County Alliances in California
Many of our counties in California have active local Alliances working closely with the local Medical Societies/Associations. We encourage you to be come active if there is an Alliance in the county where you live or in a county near you, close enough for you to participate. Those of you who live in counties without an active Alliance are eligible to be a "state only" member. Check back frequently for updates on county Alliance activities and events.

LACMA Alliance has distributed over 1,000 posters throughout the county reminding people not to leave children unattended in a car, "Not Even for a Minute."

San Joaquin Medical Society Alliance
The San Joaquin Medical Society Alliance used their grant from the CMA Alliance to purchase prizes for students to reward positive behavior. The project works with a poverty level school to encourage academics in 5th and 6th grade. The students receive points for attendance, turning in their homework. Each month the students get to “spend their points” on little things they may not have or things they may never be able to afford.

SMSA's annual Hearts and Flowers auction raises much needed funds for local charities. The Holiday Greeting Card and Bakeless Bakesale projects provide funds for scholarships to local students entering healthcare professions.
